Lung Expectorant features Elecampane extract prepared from the root of Inula helenium plants. It also includes Lobelia extract made from the fresh herb & seed of Lobelia inflata plants. We grow both plants on our own Certified Organic farms in southern Oregon. The herbs in this formula are individually extracted to provide a broad-spectrum of plant compounds. We assure herb identity via macroscopic and organoleptic analysis, then confirm it through methods such as HPTLC fingerprinting specific to each herb. The formula is easily dispensed, taken in liquid form and added to water or other liquid. Galangal root powder (Alpinia officinarum) is a traditional oriental spice often used in folk medicine. Galangin, the active flavonol exerted anticancer effects on several cancers, including melanoma, hepatoma, and colon cancer cells. Apoptotic pathways in cancer cells might be activated by prolonged stress on an organelle in the cell’s cytoplasm called the endoplasmic reticulum. Studies have shown that galangin induced endoplasmic reticulum stress in hepatocellular carcinoma cells. In addition, galangin also induced autophagy in hepatocellular carcinoma cells, via activating the TGF-β receptor/Smad pathway which can also help fight cancer. Brain & Hypothalamus/Pituitary Axis  Abnormalities of the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis regulation are common with aging. For example, regions of the brain showed major deficits in cell signaling in older animals.13 In the brain, accumulation of oxidized protein corresponds to a loss of key enzyme activities.
